The Patriarch of Jerusalem speaks in the Radio of the Church of Greece



In the morning session of Radio 89,5 fm of the Church of Greece of Thursday, September 30, 2010, spoke His Beatitude the Patriarch of Jerusalem Mr. Theophilus the Third.

His Beatitude with reference to the role of religions in the Middle East said: "Today is understood by all, politicians, diplomats, etc., the importance and role of religious leadership in the peaceful coexistence of people. For this reason, all religious leaders are invited to actively participate in any negotiations or dialogue. Their contribution is necessary and don't find it odd in the long run if you see political and international authorities resort to religious leaders to find a viable solution regarding the issue of Jerusalem. As long as the issue of Jerusalem is resolved, all the other issues of regional and global problems will be also solved, because the global crisis was initiated from Jerusalem. So if it is possible in the future for peace to prevail globally, this will depend on Jerusalem. "

Local and global peace is an implicit goal of the Church. The main way to achieve it is by bringing first Peace in the hearts of people. But Church can certainly contribute to world peace by speaking words of reconciliation. The Patriarch of Jerusalem, lives in the most troubled part of this planet and he's expected to have a higher ranking priority for peace than us who have not experienced war.
